Audition: Our Country's Good

February 26 & 27, 11am, 12pm, 1pm

Our Country's Good concerns itself with one of the first British transport ships to arrive in Sydney, Australia wherein admist floggings and hangings, the Convicts are encouraged by the philanthropic Governor to take part in a production of The Recruiting Officer. A second Lieutenant volunteers to direct and enters the project with an eye on promotion but ends up transformed by love as do many of the Convicts themselves who feel transformed by the magic of Theatre. Black Comedy with an eye on social justice and redemption. It is an ensemble piece. Find sides and character description in the menu to the right (or below on mobile).

Auditions take place Saturday, February 26 and Sunday, February 27, between 11:00am and 2:00pm. Looking for actors iwth proof of vaccination cards and considerable theatre experience who are familiar with movement training of some kind. Please bring hard copy of theatrical resume. Actors should be familiar enough with sides to read any part and be prepared to move plus speak some form of British dialect. Please arrive on the hour at either 11:00am, 12:00pm, or 1:00pm. Plan to stay for one hour and read in groups.
